Santorini Beaches. Whether you are after a bucket and spade beach, a party beach or a secluded beach.
You will find them all here. How to get there and what they have to offer.
The beaches surrounding the island are a mish mash of dark grey sand, red sand, rocks, pebbles and shingle
Not by any means the best beaches of the world. However Santorini Beaches have a beauty of there very own.
These resort beaches are the more organized beaches of the Island. With lifeguard posts and all the usual trimmings found on any resort beach of the world.Water sports restaurants bars and beach activities.
Most of the beaches along the eastern coast are served with a small taverna or two. If relaxation and quiet is what you seek then the beaches of the east coast are your places to visit.
The caldera side of the Island, the western side, has few beaches, again if seclusion is what you are after then these beaches are a must visit. The views across the caldera are a fantastic vantage point for the volcano, Fira, and in the distance, Oia.
Watching the sun go down from these beaches is a sight not to be missed. Once twilight occurs, you can see in the distance, the twinkling hotel and restaurant lights of Fira and Oia.
Within a short distance of any of the beaches, you will find places to have a meal or a glass of wine so take time out and visit some of the less populated beaches.
As I mentioned earlier Santorini Beaches may not be the best beaches in the world but they do offer something very different for the explorer and those of you seeking seclusion.
When you visit Santorini, make sure you hire a vehicle and visit the entire coastline. You are sure to find your favorite haven amongst the many beaches of Santorini Island.

Perissa Beach. They call it the party beach, loud music, drunken behaviour morning until night…Let me tell you ….IT ISNT TRUE! Sure, you can find a party atmosphere here, if you want it but it is well behaved and, good fun.
Kamari Beach.Loaded with umbrellas and sun lounges Kamari Beach retains its charm with the dark coloured sand and contrasting blue warm waters of the Aegean Sea.
Monolithos Beach.Monolithos Beach Santorini is an ideal beach for families with small children. Safe and clean, with a childrens play area. Situated on the East of the Island below Katherados village.
Red Beach.A couple of years ago Red Beach was served with a small makeshift canteen and a few umbrellas and sun loungers. Today however it is a very popular beach and as such there are a few more make shift canteenas and a mass of umbrellas and sunloungers.
White Beach. So called because of the spectacular white cliffs surrounding the beach. You can not get to the beach by foot. There is a regular boat taxi from Red Beach ferrying people onto the beach.
