Santorini Activities and Workshops.
You can learn a new skill here on Santorini Island with a
pottery workshop, water color painting workshop, drawing and
sketching workshop, and photography workshops.
So, if you are visiting Santorini between April and October. You
are not a beach person, have a few hours to spare and you would
like to learn a new skill, Santorini activities and workshops could be what you are looking for.
A thriving Artisan movement exists here in Santorini. However,
visitors to the Island know little about these talented artists,
beavering away inside their studios
Of course, you can visit their work shop, watch the artist at
work. There is nothing more satisfying to an artist than to meet
people interested in their work.
Watch the potter turn a piece of clay into a beautiful vase, or
the painter mixing colors and skillfully applying them onto his
canvas. The photographer hanging his latest landscape.
Or… you could try it yourself.
I have teamed up with a few such artists who are offering short
workshops in their craft.
Your Pottery Tutor

All of your tutors live on the Island and make their living from
their chosen field. Whether it be photography, pottery, painting
or sketching there is sure to be a course that suits you.
The courses last from a few hours, to a week or one day.
Pottery, Workshop. Santorini Activities.
This workshop is very popular and is split into 4 hr morning or
afternoon sessions.
The morning session is from 10am till 2 in the afternoon.
The afternoon session is from 3 till 7.
You can also book a full day.
Or a week, 5 days of hands on learning.
Four hour workshop.
These workshops are designed as an introduction into the art of
pottery making. You will be shown how to “throw”, a pot, and how
to mold the clay on the wheel into a beautiful shape.
A hands on exercise which will give you a feel for the art. You
will hand paint a finished item which will then be fired, and is
yours to keep and take home with you.
Please bear in mind that the firing process takes a few days to
complete. So it is best to book a course at the beginning of
your stay, to ensure your piece will be ready for you to take
home.
One day workshop.
Throw your clay onto the wheel and learn how to gently coax the
shape, with the expert guidance of your tutor.
It could be a pot, a vase or a plate, if you manage to successfully mould your
own, then its time to paint it, using traditional techniques.
This day long course is designed for budding potters and
beginners who want a bit more hands on experience in the craft
of pottery.
One week course.
A relaxing hands on and informative course on the art of pottery and ceramic. A five days course, With your tutor coaxing and
teaching leading you step by step from throwing the clay
through to glazing and firing your work.
Designed for beginners and budding potters. You will leave the
course with a thorough understanding of the art of ceramics.
All workshops are designed for a maximum of four people.

Morning or Afternoon Sessions.
An introduction into the art of water color painting. You will learn the process of sketching your scene before mixing and applying the paint onto canvas.
This course is an ideal Santorini activities course, to discover what goes behind the work of a professional water color artist. As well as teaching you the basic principles of water color painting.
One day courses.
are designed to lead you through the beginning process and on to the mixing of colors for use in highlight and shadow detail.
Also a course for beginners but with an emphasis on bringing the artist within you, out. Before the day is over you will have painted your very own masterpiece with the guidance of your tutor.
One Week Course.
Whether you are a budding water color painter or a beginner. This week long course will develop your skill and teach you new ones. By the time the week is over you will be well on your way to becoming a lot more skilled, with the mixing of colors, perspective, learning to see, and overall knowledge in the art of painting with water color.
